Volvi is a municipality in the Thessaloniki regional unit, Central Macedonia, Greece. The seat of the municipality is the town Stavros. The municipality was named after Lake Volvi, the second biggest lake of Greece.
Volvi’s location is ideal for excursions, as it is about one hour away from big northern Greek cities. So it’s one hour away from Thessaloniki, Kavala, Serres and of course the unique Mount Athos.
It is also about one hour away from Thessaloniki’s international airport “Macedonia” and Kavala’s international airport “Alexander the Great”.
Driving, you can come to Volvi from other countries fast, safe and easy, as it is one-and-a-half hour away from “Evzonoi” borders with FYROM and “Promahon” borders with Bulgaria.
